A Letter To My Daughter

A letter to my daughter. A mother's love

Today I wanted to write a letter to my daughter. Time flies and in all honestly I wrote this post about a year ago, but I decided to post it today because this year I will have a 4 year old. I wanted to just share how precious my baby is to me and I hope that she’ll read this letter someday and know just how much I love her!

A Letter To My Baby Savannah

Dear Savannah,

It’s me your mommy, as I’m writing this you are currently 14 months and 4 days old. When I found out I was having you, I felt like I wasn’t supposed to be excited because I really didn’t want any children until I was a little older, but secretly I was super excited! I told some of our loved ones when I was only about 4 weeks pregnant with you. Everyone was planning excessively for your arrival because we were so excited to meet you.

I constantly dreamt about what you would look like, how it would be to hold you and just the feeling of having my own little mini me. Bringing you into this world would be one of the greatest opportunities, yet the biggest challenge of my life.

I was so nervous

When I first held you in the hospital, I was super nervous because I didn’t want to disappoint you. We spent about a week in the hospital, you were perfectly healthy and just as bright as could be. However, my blood pressure kept rising. This was just a hiccup from me being pregnant and this eventually went back to normal. Of course we had to make sure that I was okay so I could stick around and care for you.

The entire point of this letter is I want you to know how much sunshine you’ve brought into my life. You’ve made me so much stronger, humble, and patient. These are some of the hardest things to accomplish in life and yet you’ve helped me learn these skills. The biggest thing you have taught me is unconditional love , Savannah you mean the world to me little girl. You literally make me so happy and watching you grow, is the greatest gift I could ask for.

No matter where you are in life; I want you to know that I am so proud of you no matter where you are in life. Because I know you are trying, you are such a fierce, beautiful and courageous little baby girl. You are going to grow into such an intelligent, strong-willed, and hard working woman. I will give you the world someday , I pray that everyday of your life is filled with joy and happiness.

You are learning what love truly is from being surrounded by loved ones every day . You are an amazing little girl. You’re funny, playful, super smart, and just so gorgeous it melts my heart. I know you’re going to conquer this world. You are going to follow your dreams, crush your goals, and show people what a true boss is about. I know you are going to be so much greater than me and I’m ready for it.

Love always,

Mommy —

Okay, well I guess I needed to cry today LOL. This is lovely. I have three daughters and they are such a joy. It was very well-put in an article I read once that said “You’re my biggest challenge, and my greatest reward.”

What a beautiful letter to your daughter! I am not a mum myself, but I feel like I would also write a letter to my children 🙂
